AC Maintenance in Belleair, FL
AC maintenance is a scheduled visit where a technician cleans, inspects and tests your system so small problems are caught before they become breakdowns. In Florida, where the AC runs for most of the year, it is worth doing at least once a year, and many homeowners book a visit before the hottest months. In Belleair, Hales AC and Air Strike Cooling both provide AC maintenance.

Signs
When to book AC maintenance
- It has been more than a year since the system was last serviced
- The system runs longer than it used to on similar days
- Airflow from the vents feels weaker than it did
- A musty smell when the system starts
- Electric use has crept up with no change in how you use the house
- The condensate drain has clogged or the float switch has shut the system off before
The visit
What to expect
- The technician asks about anything you have noticed since the last visit.
- They check the thermostat, inspect or replace the filter, and look at airflow at the indoor unit.
- They clear the condensate drain and check the drain pan and float switch.
- At the outdoor unit they clear debris, inspect the coil, and check the electrical connections, capacitor and contactor.
- They measure how the system is performing, including temperatures and refrigerant pressures, to spot problems early.
- You get a plain summary of what they found, with any recommended repairs explained before anything is done.

Florida notes
AC Maintenance in Florida’s climate
- Florida's long cooling season means a system builds up far more running hours each year than it would in a cooler state, so regular maintenance matters more here.
- Warm, humid conditions make condensate drains prone to algae and slime. Keeping the drain clear is one of the most useful parts of a Florida tune-up.
- Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. A check in spring, before the season and the hottest months, means the system is in good shape if a storm brings outages and hot recovery days.
- Near the coast, salt builds up on the outdoor coil. Between visits, you can switch the system off at the thermostat and rinse the coil gently with a garden hose, never a pressure washer.

Questions
AC Maintenance in Belleair, answered
Who provides AC maintenance in Belleair, FL?
Hales AC (727-398-5515) and Air Strike Cooling (813-424-7699) provide AC maintenance in Belleair. Enter your ZIP to book online from Hales AC, or call to check your address.
What can I do myself between maintenance visits?
Change the filter on schedule, keep plants and debris clear of the outdoor unit, keep vents and the return grille unblocked, and watch for water around the indoor unit. Leave anything inside the equipment to a technician.
How often should I change my air filter?
Check it every month. A standard 1-inch filter typically needs changing about every 1-3 months, and sooner with pets, allergies or nearby construction. Thicker media filters last longer, so follow the label.
What does an AC maintenance visit include?
It typically covers the thermostat, filter, condensate drain, indoor and outdoor coils, electrical parts, and a check of how the system is performing. The exact checklist varies by company, so ask the local team what theirs includes.
